Intro to Maya: final interior
And last but not least… here’s the final from my Intro to Maya class. The assignment was to model, texture, & light an interior space based on a concept design.
I chose this image, which was designed by Sylvain Jézéquel, a french concept artist.
I had a lot of fun working on this one… particularly the glass lightbulb robot dude. It was a real challenge getting the lights to function properly with the glass material [lightbulb inside a lightbulb], but I now know much more about light rays and refractions, so that’s a plus. I think once I get into VRay in a couple terms, I’m going to revisit this project and try to touch up the glass, but for now it’s a wrap.
Software used: Maya [mental ray], MudBox, & Photoshop.
Term 1 down, 7 to go!
